Our Story

It Began with a Conversation

When I talked with other parents, the same subject kept coming up. Our children were growing into teenagers, and suddenly the everyday routine that had always worked needed a rethink. After school or sports, body odor was becoming something new to navigate.

We wanted to help them feel fresh and confident. But before reaching for another deodorant or a more strongly scented product, we found ourselves turning the bottles around and reading the ingredients. Could we keep things simpler? Was there a plant-based option that could become part of an ordinary shower routine?

Those conversations stayed with me. I began researching traditional soaps, learning about their ingredients and how they were made. That search led me to Aleppo soap, with its olive oil, laurel oil, and long, unhurried making process.

The Tradition That Inspired Us

What drew me in was the time behind each bar. Our Aleppo soap takes about a year from making to maturing. After the soap is cooked and cut, the bars are stacked with room for air to move between them and left to dry slowly. There is no rushing that part.

As I learned more, I discovered the place of soap and woven towels in the hammam tradition. A simple wash could have a whole history behind it: the ingredients chosen, the hands that made it, and the care taken along the way.

A Family Business, Thoughtfully Chosen

That curiosity became KARYMA, our small family-run business. We select and source our soaps and towels from makers in Türkiye. Our role is to bring those products to you, with care for what they are made from and how they are made.

Parents of teenagers are an important part of our story, but KARYMA is for the whole family. Whether you are choosing an everyday soap, a towel you will reach for each morning, or a thoughtful gift, I hope you find something you will enjoy using.

Thank you for taking a moment to get to know us.
